Maralyn Foureur is currently Professor of Midwifery at the Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health at the University of Technology Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. She has been a midwife and academic for over 30years working in Australia and New Zealand. Maralyn has over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals and books and has received research grants from government and non government organisations totalling over $8million.  A randomised controlled trial of continuity of midwifery care which she conducted for her PhD (published under her previous surname Rowley) is widely cited and is included in Australian and international policy documents and the Cochrane Library of Systematic reviews. This RCT led to her continuing interest in the role of conducting research to produce evidence of effectiveness and exploring how to implement evidence into practice. Maralyn is a proud mother of two and grandmother of 4 beautiful children.
